Book Review: The Versions of Us by Laura Barnett

A clever concept but a difficult read with underwritten story lines and characters. I’d give “The Versions of Us” a miss and will rate it 2 stars.… Read More Book Review: The Versions of Us by Laura Barnett

“It Could Never Happen Here” by Eithne Shortall is a fun, twisty mystery with some playground drama thrown in for good measure 💛 Nine strangers receive a list with their names on it in the mail. Nothing else, just a list of names on a single sheet of paper. None of the nine people know or have ever met the others on the list. They dismiss it as junk mail, a fluke – until very, very bad things begin happening to people on the list ✉️🧐 Today's review is for Paige Toon's 'Someone I Used to Know', my second read by this author 💕 I’ve finally started reading the Harry Potter books! ⚡ I’m about half way through at the moment and have taken a break to enjoy another of Pottermore’s library books. Having enjoyed “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” a few months ago, I thought I would like this one too. “The animal’s camera was installed behind its eyes, and sometimes it spun around on the three wheels hidden in its base, moving forward or backward. Someone was controlling the creature from somewhere else, and they didn’t know who it was.” “Books are what teach you about life. Books teach you empathy. But you can’t buy books if you barely got enough to make rent. So that library is a vital resource! You shut a library, Louisa, you don’t just shut down a building, you shut down hope.” ❤️ I've finally finished my review for 'The Skylight' by Louise Candlish. Have you read it?? Here we are with another Japanese book about a cat – it’s been a while! 🐱 “Coming Home to Maple Cottage” is the third and final in the Sandcastle Bay series by Holly Martin ❄️ I really enjoyed the first in the Sandcastle Bay series, “The Holiday Cottage by the Sea” and knew it wouldn’t be long until I’d pick up the second ☀️☀️☀️ “The Holiday Cottage by the Sea” by Holly Martin is an uplifting story of friendship and romance. It’s a cosy read and I’m sure it’ll put a smile on you face! I’m not sure what made me pick up this audiobook but I’m so glad that I did. I loved ‘Are We Having Fun Yet?’ by Lucy Mangan! 💚💛❤ “The Motorcycle Diaries” is a classic, the first-hand account of a young Che Guevara’s trip across South America long before he ended up in the history books 🏍️ Alongside his friend Alberto, much of their trip was spent hitch hiking and walking, but the intention had been to complete it by motorbike, hence the title. Set in 1959, #TheBookshop tells the story of Florence, a young woman who buys and sets up a bookshop in a coastal town 🏖️ Are you a Dolly Parton fan?
