Book Review: Swing Time by Zadie Smith

I found that this book didn’t work for me. I enjoyed the first few chapters but I felt like I couldn’t connect with the main character while jumping back and forth in time. I’d have loved a book with a little more Tracey and a little less Aimee, a little more school days and a little less plodding along building a school in Africa. Book Review: Ma’am Darling: 99 Glimpses of Princess Margaret by Craig Brown

A fascinating glimpse into the life of a Royal we don’t really talk about much these days. I don’t think I had ever heard of Princess Margaret before watching “The Crown” and that really is a shame as she certainly was an interesting woman! This book was a little long for my tastes as there is only so much gossip you can take before it starts to feel mean, yet I’d still recommend this for fans of the Royal Family. Book Review: The Boy on the Bridge by M.R. Carey

I’m sad to say that “The Boy on the Bridge” didn’t offer much in terms of action so for me it was a little bland and slow. The characters weren’t all that likeable and many of them were forgettable. While I appreciate getting to fill in the gaps in the background to Melanie’s story, this has nothing on the first book and left me feeling really disappointed.
