It's my stop on the blog tour for "Leaves" by John Simmons. "Leaves" is very well written story of humanity and community. Parts of the description in particular is beautiful, like reading a poem or song lyrics.
I've been taking a little reading break this week and was delighted to be nominated in the 7 Day Book Challenge over on Instagram.
“The Hope Family Calendar” is a light and easy read looking at family relationships following a tragic loss. It was a little predictable and I felt that something was missing, but I enjoyed it - 3 stars.
'Every Time He Dies' by Tara East is a very well written, fast paced story of gang crime in Brisbane. I was hooked from page one and really enjoyed exploring the mystery behind a number of murders. I'd definitely recommend this one, it's 5 stars from me!
It's my stop on the blog tour for "The Birthday House" by Jill Treseder. "The Birthday House" is a powerful short read examining a real-life murder during the 1950s. Exploring how this crime affected the lives of those who knew the family, this really is a compelling and heart-wrenching story.
'Seven Days' is a really gripping thriller which kept me on the edge of my seat - 4 stars.
Today we're celebrating “Gorgito's Ice Rink” with a birthday blitz! "Gorgito's Ice Rink" is an interesting story, especially for someone with little knowledge of Russia. This book is a tale of love, loss and broken promises that deserves a little love on its publication birthday. I'm sure many people will enjoy this story and learn a little bit while reading too.
"Three Little Truths" is a fun community story with plenty of colourful characters. I really enjoyed looking at the different lives and dynamics of the residents of Pine Road, it's 4 stars from me.
"The Choke" isn't an easy read, it's gritty and it's disturbing in places, but don't let that put you off - author Sofie Laguna is highly praised and rightfully so. This is a powerful read but not one I can say I enjoyed all that much - it's 3 stars from me.
