"The Reason I Jump" is a quick, educational read intended to give the reader a little bit of an insight into the mind of a child with autism. I found quite a lot of the book to be overgeneralised, but I did find it to be poignant and really interesting in places. 3 stars!
“The Cost of Living” is the second of Deborah Levy’s working autobiographical publications. I enjoyed it for the most part, but found some of the essays to be unrelatable for me personally. I'll probably go back and read the first in the series at some point as this was an enjoyable 3 star read for me.
“The Silver Road” in audiobook wasn't my cup of tea. I struggled with the format and didn't really get into the story. I'd like to give this one a try in traditional print at some point in the future. Keep your eyes peeled for an update!
"Him & Me" is a fun autobiography by Jack and Michael Whitehall. I'd recommend this on audio for fans of the pair, but would probably avoid it if you don't know anything about them. A great 5 stars from me!
“Perfect Death” is the third book in the D.I. Callanach series by Helen Fields. This book was as a little less gruesome than it's predecessors but still made for an enjoyable read. This slightly more character focussed read gets 3 stars from me.
It’s another 3 stars from me for "A Stanger in the House" by Shari Lapena. This is a contemporary thriller that I enjoyed, but wasn't amazed by. Recommended for fans of the author!
"The Move" was another 3 star read for me. The writing was good and there were lots of lovely descriptions, but the plot didn't really have much to offer. Recommended for fans of a domestic drama, rather than a thriller or mystery.
“Hard Pushed” is a really enjoyable medical memoir. Following midwife Leah Hazard on her journey to become an experienced midwife. Full of interesting stories and anecdotes, this was a great 4 stars for me!
"Life in Pieces" tells one woman's story of her family during lockdown. I did enjoy it and found a lot of Dawn's experiences to be very similar to my own, but I think this book would be better suited to mother's of young children, especially those who were home-schooling at the beginning of the pandemic. An enjoyable 3 star read for me!
“Perfect Prey” is another great D.I. Callanach book by Helen Fields. The murders were gruesome and the story was gripping both of which made for a really great crime story! A 4 star read for me!
