"Silver Sparrow" is a story is about two young girls trying to find their way in a dysfunctional world full of secrets and lies. This was an okay 3 star read for me and probably not one I'm going to remember long term.
"Behind the Scenes at the Museum" tells the historical story of one woman and her family. I couldn't connect with this story and struggled to keep up with the huge plethora of characters. I'm afraid this was a 1 star read for me.
An emotional and heavy read, Chris Cleave's "Incendiary" looks at the aftermath of a terrorist attack and how grief, guilt and loss can affect a person. I didn't love it as much as "Little Bee" but it's still 4 stars from me.
"Hotel Iris" is a novella that's opened a whole world of literature to me. Translated from Japanese, Ogawa tells a difficult story in a beautifully simply way. It may not be for everyone, and I know that this kind of book is always going to receive mixed reviews due to its tricky subject matter, but the writing style is right up my street and I personally can't wait to read more.
