A quick read but still entertaining, "The Arrangements" is a quirky, fictional short story about Donald Trump and his family. Give it a try if you've got a spare 30 minutes. I wouldn't say it was anything special, but an enjoyable 3 stars from me!
"The Lost Words" is a beautiful audiobook, narrated by a selection of famous voices. I enjoyed this collection of poetry, but I can't help but feel that the print book would have made for a more magical read. It’s 3 stars from me.
"Why We Sleep" is a really educational read that I'd recommend for anyone interested in the subject of sleep. It covers all aspects of the topic without being overwhelming. This was a good 4 star read for me!
"Sweet Bean Paste" is a wholesome story of unlikely friendship. I loved the simplicity of this Japanese tale, but I didn't finish this book with a any strong feelings for it. This was a 3 star read for me.
“The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” is an absolute gem and I can't wait to read more from this author. Telling the story of Evelyn Hugo, a larger than life movie star, this story is truly immersive and will have you hooked – another strong 5 stars!
"Conversations with Friends" was a wonderful story to listen to. I really enjoyed Aoife McMahon's narration and Sally Rooney's writing style has me hooked too. This is a witty character study which I devoured in a matter of days - 5 stars!
"Some Kind of Wonderful" is a lovely, comforting read about one woman's journey of self-discovery. I enjoyed this story and will keep an eye out for more books by this author - 4 stars!
“Record of a Night Too Brief” is an extremely quirky collection of stories by Japanese author Hiromi Kawakami. For the most part I enjoyed the writing of these stories, but really they were just a little too strange for me to enjoy fully - 2 stars.
I really enjoyed "The Travelling Cat Chronicles", a poignant look at the relationship between one man, his cat and the people most important to him in his life. I loved it and would recommend you give it a go – 5 stars.
"The Woman in Cabin 10" started strong and was full of suspense but I began to lose interest in the last third as things took as slightly strange turn. It's 3 stars from me!
