It's my stop on the blog tour for "The Favour" by Laura Vaughan, an atmospheric character study of a group of privileged young people. For the most part I found this to be an immersive read and I really liked the ending. It's 4 stars from me!
It's my stop on the blog tour for "The Last Snow", a dark, atmospheric crime drama that I really enjoyed. It's well written and so descriptive. I think fans of the genre will love this one, it's a big 4 stars from me!
“The Lost Lights of St Kilda" is a tale of love, hope and culture that I'm sad to say that wasn't really my cup of tea. This is a beautifully written book and I'm sure it is one that will be adored by many, but for me it was a little slow moving and that took away from my overall enjoyment. I'm rating this one 2 stars.
"Grace After Henry" is a heartbreaking yet uplifting story of love, loss and grief and it's one that I really enjoyed. I love Eithne Shortall's style of writing and felt truly immersed in the story. I'd definitely recommend it!
Despite starting this read with a great deal of optimism, "How to Play Dead" wasn't really my cup of tea. I was expecting a gripping thriller but instead this is more of a slow study if characters and their relationships. It's 2 stars from me for this one.
"Three Little Truths" is a fun community story with plenty of colourful characters. I really enjoyed looking at the different lives and dynamics of the residents of Pine Road, it's 4 stars from me.
