"The Bone Clocks" was a massive disappointment. Full of characters I didn't care for and plot points that didn't have any relevance to the story whatsoever, I struggled to finish this book and am glad to have returned it to the library. Holly Sykes was a great character but those around her didn't add much to the story and just made it drag on and on and on. I didn't hate it, but I couldn't love it so "The Bone Clocks" gets 2 stars from me.
A powerful short read which draws you in to it's dreamlike world. It's odd, but it's good. Deborah Levy's "Hot Milk" gets 4 stars from me.
A great character study but for such a long book I was looking for more of a story. Well written and enjoyable but too lengthy and a little lacking. It's 3 stars for "On Beauty."
An enjoyable read about a disastrous "Grand Tour" and the dynamics between the family members who have embarked on it. A light read which is still able to delve into some serious topics. Slightly too dragged out for my liking which scores David Nicholls' "Us" three stars.
