Despite it's intriguing name, "An Advertisement for Toothpaste" really isn't a book I can recommend. I didn't understand a lot of it and felt confused until the final story. I'm sure this will be enjoyed by many, but sadly it's not for me - 1 star.
This little book contains a highly influential and powerful piece of writing in Martin Luther King Jr's "Letter From Birmingham Jail". This is a tiny book at a tiny price so I'd definitely recommend you pick it up if you haven't already read it.
This little book contains three creepy stories. I think this was a great introduction to the work of Shirley Jackson and I'll be sure to check our her other work soon. This one is getting 4 stars from me.
Exploring and understanding the emptiness felt by housewives in America during the 1960s, this little book is a really interesting read, especially if, like me, you don't know a great deal about the first two waves of feminism. 5 stars!
"Three Japanese Short Stories" is a tiny collection of short stories that won't take you long to read. For me they were just okay and nothing to shout home about - 2 stars for now.
