'Every Time He Dies' by Tara East is a very well written, fast paced story of gang crime in Brisbane. I was hooked from page one and really enjoyed exploring the mystery behind a number of murders. I'd definitely recommend this one, it's 5 stars from me!
'Seven Days' is a really gripping thriller which kept me on the edge of my seat - 4 stars.
"The Woman in Cabin 10" started strong and was full of suspense but I began to lose interest in the last third as things took as slightly strange turn. It's 3 stars from me!
It’s my stop on the “Proximity” blog tour! An enjoyable and somewhat unnerving peek at what technology could be like in our future. "Proximity" is fast-paced, imaginative and could easily be featured as the next episode of "Black Mirror". It's a big 5 stars from me!
It’s my stop on the “The Killer You Know” blog tour! I'd highly recommend giving S.R. Masters' debut novel a try. "The Killer You Know" is a gripping story and I enjoyed acting the detective to try and work out the who/what/where/when of this mystery. It's 4 stars from me - thanks so much to Anne Cater and S.R. Masters for the opportunity to read this one!
"Black Matter" is like a story from Black Mirror, a frightening peek at where technology may take us. When Tommy McGregor gets an implant to track his health statistics he never imagined the tragic consequences. The premise is great but the writing could do with a little work - 3 stars from me.
"The Last Lie" is a gripping thriller, but it's not a tough read. I sped through the pages and looked forward to picking this up each day. Predictable and unrealistic at times but an enjoyable 3 stars.
As inspiration for BBC show "Killing Eve", this story features some strong female characters, but for me it didn't have much more going for it. I didn't find it particularly gripping or engaging and I don't think I'll be picking up the sequel. Dare I say it, the TV show was better in my eyes!
It’s my stop on the “Good Samaritans” blog tour! Not one for the fainthearted, Will Carver's "Good Samaritans" is an intense read. Full of twists and turns that left me shocked, this book is complex at times and unlike anything I've read recently. If you're looking for something dark, disturbing and explicit, I'd recommend checking this book out.
"Lullaby" is gripping and it's definitely a thriller, but I don't know if there is much more I can say. From page one we know how the story is going to end, so the pages explore why and how this has come to happen. When the final page is turned, we still don't really know the answers so let's say I enjoyed it but I need some more time to process what I've read to truly appreciate it. 3 stars!
