“This Time Next Year" by Sophie Cousens is a quirky rom-com with a lot of heart. Minnie Cooper's story makes for a really enjoyable read and a great pick-me-up at the end of a difficult year! 5 stars!
"Postscript" is a wonderful follow up to the bestseller "P.S. I Love You". Author Cecelia Ahern allows us to catch up with Holly Kennedy 7 years later and does so beautifully. I really liked this one, a strong 4 stars!
"Some Kind of Wonderful" is a lovely, comforting read about one woman's journey of self-discovery. I enjoyed this story and will keep an eye out for more books by this author - 4 stars!
Living My Best Li(f)e is a feel-good story of friendship and community spirit that would be a ideal holiday read. It's also an important reminder that what you see on social media isn't always the truth - sometimes #livingmybestlife is a little more #livingmybestlie.
"One?" is a fantastically English piece of contemporary fiction set in the 2000s. Penelope, Charlie and Zara are great characters and these ladies are some of the most relatable I've read in a while. I really enjoyed this - 5 stars!
"The Single Mum's Wish List" is a story of one woman trying to find herself after a separation. It's a light-hearted read that is funny in parts but the leading lady wasn't likable enough for me to fall in love with this story - 3 stars from me.
Bridget Jones's Diary was an easy four star read for me. It's certainly not the best book ever written, but it's fun, British and so relatable. Who hasn't had body insecurities, faced a stinking hangover or felt the judgement of others? I'd recommend this book for fans of the film - read it and fall in love with Bridget all over again!
Georgina Horspool is so real it's difficult not to love her. Unemployed and single on the same day and heading home to a roommate who's not her biggest fan either. This rom-com explores some tricky themes but it mostly fun and witty. This wasn't perfect for me but still an enjoyable 3 stars.
