After spending the first week of August away in the countryside, I was so glad to return to work to find my August Reading in Heels Subscription box waiting for me on my desk.
1. Ma’am Darling: 99 Glimpses of Princess Margaret by Craig Brown
2. Patchology Eye Gel Duo
3. Marble Notebook from @coconutlaneuk
4. Vinoos Rose Wine Gums
5. “A Well Read Woman” pink pencil from @nightnavy
This book seems right up my street. I’ve not long finished series 2 of “The Crown” and I absolutely loved it from the first episode. I didn’t know anything about Princess Margaret before watching the series and it seems that she had such a fascinating life so I’m sure this is going to be a good read. I am a fan of biographies, but I don’t like to get too bogged down in the specific details, so I’m glad that this book is described as not being full of tedious dates and times. I’m looking forward to giving it a try so keep your eyes peeled for my review in the next few weeks! (update: see my review here)
The beauty product this month is by Patchology. The eye gels look good, and quite posh as far as my skincare routine is concerned! They’re not something I’ve ever used before but they are meant to rejuvenate and restore tired eyes so that must be a good thing! I’ll give them a go when I’m feeling particularly sleepy to let them work their magic.
I’m also a massive stationary fan so even though I may have a bit too much, you can never go wrong with a extra pencil and notebook, especially ones with pretty patterns and colours. And who doesn’t love a wine gum? Especially one made of real wine!
Once again I notice that there is a clever colour scheme to the box. It’s a little less obvious than last month’s but everything is still expertly chosen to look good together.
I’m glad to have found a box full of things I actually want and can use and it’s great to discover new brands in the process. I’m really pleased with my August box and will certainly be sticking with this subscription to find out what’s in store for September.
Have you tried any book subscription boxes? Let me know what you thought of them in the comments!
